Popular Lagos Oba Falls into "MAGUN" Trap!

A popular traditional ruler in Lagos State narrowly escaped death recently. Thanks to the timely intervention of his ‘medicine men’. The Oba, who is a septuagenarian, is very randy – in spite of being a polygamist. The saddest aspect of this obnoxious attitude of his, however, is that he only goes for married women. Like we were told, that’s where he gets his kicks from. The other angle is that he does it for some spiritual purposes.

Investigations revealed that Kabiyesi has so many chalets and guest houses scattered all around his domain where he normally takes his ‘victims’ to. But the last one that nearly cost him his life happened in an Island called Ilashe, in the Centre of Excellence. Both of them had sneaked into the Island with a speed boat belonging to one of his rich and popular sons. But midway into their romantic acrobatics, Kabiyesi suddenly went down and just as he was about to begin to somersault, the woman raised an alarm which attracted some of his closest aides and ‘medicine men’, who had accompanied him on the journey for another assignment. They swiftly swung into action and succeeded in neutralizing the thunderbolt before it could wreak any havoc. Thus, rescuing the royal father from the jaws of death. Additional investigation conducted by us unearthed that the woman’s husband resorted to ‘Magun’ after getting wind of his wife’s illicit affair with the traditional ruler and in spite of his repeated warnings that the woman desists from that. But luckily for the Oba, he miraculously escaped paying the supreme price – all because of his love for other people’s wives. Slim and fair skinned, the jolly papa is very rich and has alphabet O beginning one of his names. Neither a colourful character nor a too-visible person, even some of his children have taken after him in running after anything in skirt. Magun, by the way, means thunderbolt in English. Some men usually lace their wayward and promiscuous wives with it. Usually to serve as a deterrent.

Many a time difficult to arrest, there are three types of it – one gets the victim to somersault; the other forbids water consumption of any kind and the third one abhors the person crossing any gutter before taking their life. The first one caught the Kabiyesi, but luckily, he was able to escape dying a shameful death due to the timely intervention of his ‘medicine men’.
