The bus rolled on towards onitsha! I was excited because not only was this beautiful fair girl on coloured blouse sitting next me, but also the position i got to occupy in the bus was quite a comfortable one! We had barely gotten to Awka and i was still searching for the most sweet way to strike a conversation with Ms fair lady, when she suddenly broke out into sporadic snoring! I thought she had been praying or something, because she had placed her her behind the passenger sit in front of us soon as the journey began! My people you needed to have been there! Ms fair was snoring like it was no mans buisness, whilst a stream of spittle steadily ran from her agape mouth to the floor. Every one on the bus put on a straight face as if they weren't hearing it, even me sef, was forming.
Our bus swerved trying to avoid one of those blockades but up by the military men on the highway, and before i could say "Jesus!" her head was on my shoulder whilst her left hand loosely lay on my thigh closely hanging near my "ehen" region! The funny thing was that this pretty chick was drooling saliva all over my immaculately starched Zara shirt, But alas! I didn't mind, she is a fine geh na, how many times does one get to have a fine girl snoring on their shoulders in Naija buses these days? If it is not a fat market woman who takes up the whole space, then it would be an overly talkative man who wants you to take part in all his boring but loud conversations, so i was in a way happy...lols... Make i tap current while it lasts na! She was snoring ever loudly this time, even muttering incomprehensible things while she slept. Still i was "forming activity and enjoying the flow of "current"....
Then i felt a hand tap my head.... "Oga wake up, we don reach, commot head for my breast"... utterly confused, I tried to stagger up, put my head hit the low roof of the mini van with a loud thud, attracting the attention of other passengers on board who were trying to alight the vehicle. Everyone was looking at me now.... It was then i realised, I had been the one sleeping! It had all been a dream! Totally shamed, i grabbed my small travelling bag, and headed out to get a bike to the next park, walk so fast in order to avoid amused eyes... Warri must not be so far away after all...
